TRAVELLING TO THE EVENT

1. There is one major road to take traffic from Metropolitan Areas around Leeds and the York area – the A64. Throughout the summer, the A64 becomes very busy with all the holiday makers heading to the famous North Yorkshire coastline.

2. By 10.00am, traffic starts to become congested and journey times lengthen so we encourage you to come as early as possible.

3. When approaching Castle Howard from the South, there are two ornate, gateways to pass under. These archways will be one-way to assist your passage. These can accommodate a vehicle the size of a large van.

4. For alternative routes wide vehicles to avoid narrow gateways measuring 2.6m x 3.43m (8’ 6” wide x 11’ 3” high) visit the Castle Howard website: https://www.castlehoward.co.uk/visit-us/visitor-information/finding-us

CAR PARKING PASSES

If you have a car-parking pass please make sure this is displayed clearly in your windscreen so we can park you as quickly as possible. YOUR PARKING PASS GIVES ACCESS TO ANY CAR PARK. We recommend purchasing these in advance to help get you into the car park as swiftly as possible.
