We are a fifth generation family business, hand making exceptional bread, cakes and pastries from our bakery in Chipping Sodbury since 1920. We still use many of the slow and traditional methods taught by our Grandparents; including our beloved Sherston loaf that we leave to gently rise overnight, and our Organic Light Rye Sourdough with a fermentation time of 24 hours giving it its distinctive tangy taste.
Community and sustainability has been at the heart of our business since we baked our very first loaf of bread over one hundred years ago. Becoming a Certified B Corporation in 2019 means that we meet the highest social and environmental standards for people and the planet. It's how we’ve always done business, now we have the stamp to prove it.
Handmade bread for everyone is our mantra and we believe everyone can bake. We encourage a culture of sharing, family values, and we love teaching everyone how to make bread, from schools, to other bakeries and fantastic home bakers.
